Fitting the batteries

Firewall forward design

1:10 scale bRASS mock-up

Does it fit? Can we build it from tubing and sheet metal?

can we assemble and disassemble it?

We are currently working on the firewall forward section that holds the battery as well as the engine. The total weight of the electric motor, inverter, BMS, and batteries is about the same as the internal combustion engine + fuel + auxiliary systems. A quick and dirty 1:10 mock-up was made to test if the design can be built, assembled, and disassembled (for servicing). CAD is great and lets you draw almost anything imaginable. Building it is a different story, hence the mock-up.
